ITHACA —
Interconnecting Histories and Archives for Migrant Agency

ITHACA is a project led by the University of Modena with the aim of creating a superarchive to provide content and digital tools to researchers, archivists, politicians, practitioners, students, and the public through a clear and accessible architecture. It will be accessible to migrants, and it will be organised in two levels (past – current), with the aspiration of getting policymakers to pay more attention to the historical and long-term dimensions of migration problems by combining past and present studies structurally.

I designed the typographic logo drawing inspiration from the different alphabets and languages of the Mediterranean countries involved in the project. The palette reminds of an ideal landscape (sky - land - sand) with the bright colours of the regions touched by the sea like Italy, Morocco, Spain, Greece or France.
